Unlike the analog cordless phones you may have in your home, DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) is a digital wireless telephone technology that is expected to make cordless phones much more common in both businesses and homes in the future. Formerly called the Digital European Cordless Telecommunications standard because it was developed by European companies, DECT's present name reflects its global acceptance.
Like another important wireless standard, Global System for Mobile communication (GSM), DECT uses time division multiple access (TDMA) to transmit radio signals to phones. Whereas GSM is optimized for mobile travel over large areas, DECT is designed especially for a smaller area with a large number of users, such as in cities and corporate complexes. A user can have a telephone equipped for both GSM and DECT (this is known as a dual-mode phone) and they can operate seamlessly. Integrated DECT Solutions could be used on our Hipath 3000 / 4000 ranges of PABX’s where any campus size could be covered with DECT signal in order to make DECT / cordless communications possible. The KIRK Wireless Server 500 is the reliable and cost-effective choice for small business wireless telephony. This system uses an analog telephone interface and supports a maximum of eight wireless handsets from a single integrated base station. Up to six additional repeaters can be added for total coverage area much greater than single base station cordless telephones. KIRK Repeaters only require power for operation and do not need cabling back to the KIRK Wireless Server 500. Up to three KIRK Repeaters can be daisy-chained to further extend coverage or to reach challenging areas. Using the well-established Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT) standard, the KIRK Wireless Server 500 does not interfere with other on-site devices such as microwave ovens, RFID tags, cordless phones, or Wi-Fi networks.

The KIRK Wireless Server 1500, with its choice of analogue, ISDN or IP interface, is the ideal add-on telephony solution for large businesses with a need for up to 700 wireless users. The basic version of the KIRK Wireless Server 1500 registers 64 wireless users with analogue interface and 350 wireless users with ISDN or IP. When your business evolves and your telephony needs change your KIRK solution can easily be expanded to fit these changing needs. The KIRK Expansion Board and the KIRK Link Card make it possible to double the solution capacity to reach registration of up to 128 and 700 wireless users depending on interface technology. It is also possible to upgrade the interface technology applied in the KIRK Wireless Server 1500 when more traffic capacity or more wireless users are needed.
With a KIRK solution, a smooth migration is assured for customers wishing to move from analogue or ISDN to IP. There is no need to invest in a new solution - a simple exchange of the KIRK Interface Card to fit the new PBX is enough. The KIRK Wireless Server 1500 also comes in a rack version.

KIRK Wireless Server 600v3 - IP Telephony for SMBs
The KIRK Wireless Server 600v3 is a scalable solution capable of registering up to 1500 wireless users making it an excellent choice for small and medium-sized businesses across a wide range of vertical markets. Using an IP interface to the PBX, power over Ethernet and IP routing between the wireless servers, the KIRK Wireless Server 600v3 is a cost-effective system that allows for re-use of existing network infrastructure and components. The KIRK Wireless Server 600v3 can be deployed as either a single-cell or a multi-cell solution and can be adjusted to fit the exact size and needs of the individual customer. A single-cell version, consisting of one KIRK Wireless Server 600v3 and up to 6 KIRK Repeaters, can support up to 35 users. When there is a need for more than 35 users at a location, additional KIRK Wireless Server 600v3s can be installed in a multi-cell configuration. Up to 256 radio units (a mix of KIRK Wireless Server 600v3s and KIRK Repeaters) can be used to provide the necessary radio coverage. A multi-site solution can be further customized to include number of single-cell and multi-cell deployments depending on the size of each individual location. A KIRK Wireless Server 600v3 is installed directly on the LAN and must be managed as part of the corporate network.
